Hello! My name is Cathleen Elle.

The Peace Prescription

Emotions are, by definition, not logical or based in some common knowledge. They are situational, often unpredictable, and unique to every person — and when they become too overwhelming, they can sometimes hold us back. Whenever difficult emotions rise up within, I recommend my Peace Prescription, or The 3 Bs:

Be in the moment.

Forget about what you have to do or what life will be like in a week, month, or year. Looking too far into the future will only fuel anxiety, depression, and other inhibiting sensations. Instead, ground yourself in the now, taking in every aspect of the world around you.

Breathe.

Focus on the breath coming into and going out of your body. The process of deep, active breathing will calm your nervous system and assist you in finding your physical, mental, and spiritual center.

Believe that you are not alone.

At any given moment, many other people are experiencing something similar to what you are — and many of them will find their way through. Know that you will find your way through, as well, and that there will always be a helping hand available if you choose to reach for it.

By weaving this practice into your daily routine, you will be taking a huge step forward on your journey toward a more peaceful, productive, purposeful life.
